PREPARATION & AFTER-CARE

1. Properly wash your skin with soap & water so the entire area is completely clear of any lotions or oils. Any product residue left on skin may inhibit the henna from penetrating & staining the skin.

2. Removing hair from the skin allows for a smoother application process. Hairless skin allows for easy draping of the paste, resulting in cleaner line work, therefore shaving or waxing prior to your appointment is preferred, but it is not mandatory.

3. Post-application, henna should be left on your skin for at least up to 6-8 hours. Stains can still be achieved with less sit-time, so if removed earlier, there will still be a stain, but may not last as long. Keeping henna on overnight is not required & not recommended unless using mefix tape to keep the henna in place. Do not use latex gloves or saran wrap to cover your henna.

4. Keeping your body warm while the paste is on helps achieve a darker stain. Henna is a natural cooling agent so you may feel cold after application.

5.  When removing your paste, avoid using water & especially soap for up to 24 hours. Simply scrape the henna off your skin and straight into a trash can. For any stubborn pieces, use the flat edge of any tool or paper to assist.

6. Prior to coming in contact with water,
create a barrier seal with any oil-based product like Vick's Vapor Rub, Petroleum Jelly, or balm to protect from the water.
